Oops! We’ve done it again...The British people, on May 5th voted in a Labour Government for an historic third term. Will it I wonder, turn into a third Reich! The day following the election of Tony Blair and his Labour party, one of the headlines in a newspaper stated: “NHS is told to discriminate against the old.” The article states that patients could be refused treatment based on their age under new guidelines proposed by doctors. Elderly people could be told they are not allowed certain drugs if it is believed the benefits are not great enough. Critics are outraged that doctors have been given the green light to discriminate against older patients. They say that some may want to undergo certain treatments despite high risks. Gordon Lishman, Age Concern’s director-general, said the guidelines should not be given the go-ahead. “These draft guidelines are muddled and if applied could be a real step backwards in the fight against ageism,” he said.
A recent survey suggested that 80 per cent of general practitioners already believe there is discrimination against older people within the healthcare system.
The proposals are set out in a consultation paper by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence – some refer to it as NICE!
The proposal runs contrary to the Government’s stated aim of tackling the prejudice against older people that exists in health-care services.
What will our re-shuffled New Labour Government do in this situation and others that are going to come up that are ungodly and anti-Christian? Can we really separate Tony Blair from the Labour Government policies over the years that he has been Prime Minister. With the claims that Tony Blair is a Christian some do try to distance him from the rest of his party. However, on the David Frost show on Sunday 8th May, Alastair Campbell, one of Tony Blair’s most loyal aides said himself that people underestimate what a formidable politician Tony Blair is. This would suggest that Tony is in control and that he is not pushed along by his MP’s or by his party.
Commentators on the recent election all stated that the drop in support for the Labour Government was due to Britain’s role in the Iraq war. There does not appear to be the concern amongst the British electorate for the devastating policies that have been brought in over the last eight years or the drive to hand over sovereignty to Europe. It looks as though New Labour can do pretty well what it likes as long as it doesn’t take Britain into another war. They cannot see or refuse to see the destruction that has taken place and continues within. People are more concerned about their mortgage and their homes being repossessed if interest rates go up than they are about abortion, euthanasia, homosexuality, marriage breakdown, any of the things that are going to cause this nation to finally be swallowed up by the destructive forces that are at work within our nation. But is this assessment a totally correct one or is it that the people of Britain are very concerned about these issues but are afraid to say so? Strange things are happening in British politics today. It is sometimes difficult to distinguish what party believes what policies and who stands for anything you can really stand on without it moving and shifting and not staying in one place long enough to know what it is anyway! People’s thoughts have been taken captive by hellish policies, the homophobia concept and political correctness. This is Satan’s answer to the Scriptural teaching to take every thought captive. (2Co 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.). It is to make you and I obedient to the world and its system, and to demolish the knowledge of God.
These politicians are creating fear and are taking control of men’s thoughts. They have caused fear in people to think rightly and have taken away their ability to judge right and wrong. They have all but destroyed the biblical concept of family and have brought in its place sodomite confusion. The present “Yob” in your life does not wear a hood over his head. He/she is in fact smartly dressed, well paid and works in Westminster! You will see them at smart functions with heads of state. You will see them at memorial events – even remembering the Holocaust. You will not see them holding a ceremony for Britain’s own holocaust of the 6 million abortions of the unborn since the introduction of David Steel’s abortion Bill.
Before the general election Mr Charles Clarke, the Home Secretary, sent a letter to Muslim Leaders. This was sent in April, and it appears that in this letter Mr Clarke apologised to Muslim leaders for the Government’s failure to introduce the incitement to religious hatred offence. The Government has blamed the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats for this failure. It was in fact the House of Lords, not the conservative or Liberal Democrats. And why didn’t Mr Clark write to the leaders of all religions including the Christian religion. This seems very sinister indeed. Look at the chart from the religion question in the 2001 Census. The question was a voluntary one but over 92 per cent of people chose to answer it. From the chart you will see that 72 per cent almost, said that they are “Christian”. Only coming up to 3 per cent said they are Muslim. So why is there this discrimination by Mr Clarke? The incitement to religious hatred offence is top of Labour’s agenda again and they mean to push it through – whatever the House of Lords think or do.
There are Christian voices rising up today to challenge what this present ungodly British Government is doing and saying. This group of Christians work together under what they call the “Christian Congress For Traditional Values”. Whilst we are talking about Britain and the Death of a Nation, we could talk about Europe and the Death of Europe. The strategy in politics throughout Europe is to get rid of the nation states and to create one new state. Europe, as it has been known throughout the centuries will cease to be. In fact it reaches even beyond Europe, the push is on for a one world government – 'To achieve One World Government it is necessary to remove from the minds of men their individualism their loyalty to family traditions and national identification.' – This is a quote from Brock Chisholm, when Director of the UN WHO.
The demolition work going on in Britain to destabilise our nation and to break us up include the attack on the Royal Family. It includes the attack on the House of Lords. It includes the breakdown of family life. It includes the invasion by illegal immigrants and the immigration chaos we have seen over the past years. It includes the attack on fox hunting (whatever your feelings are about foxes) and you will see attacks on all those things that hold communities and society together. It includes homosexuality. It includes abortion. It includes euthanasia. All this and much more to bring us into this new utopia. As Tony says – trust me!
Tony’s Bouncy Castle
Politicians are people. They rise and they fall. In times past, if a politician got it wrong, or if he was found to have failed the law in some way or had a fling he resigned and you never heard of him again. Today hoorah! They can bounce back, and back, and back again! Alastair Campbell (Alas!), not a politician but one of the Prime Ministers top advisers is back. He should have been dead and buried but he is resurrected and bounced back into full Labour life. Peter Mandelson, the man who helped create new Labour is back; and David Blunkett who was appointed Home Secretary on 8th June 2001 and then quit in December 2004 after an email emerged showing a visa application for his ex-lovers’ nanny had been fast-tracked. (Politicians of a bygone age would have left office long before Blunkett did over his love-life let alone the visa situation, and never come back again. Today such adulterous living is called ‘one’s private life’ and has nothing to do with his political position or job.) He also is back in politics from what would have been the grave in years gone by; and others are back. Where is the integrity?
What can believers do in this situation?
Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ can and should pray. We should bring our nation and our communities before Him. Believers can and should be sharing the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ with workmates, friends and neighbours. I am not talking about the situation where you invite a famous preacher to come and preach the Gospel and all those that attend are Christians already. What a waste of time and resource these things can be. Let the local church do its stuff by encouraging the congregation to go out and speak in Jesus’ Name. Spread the knowledge of God. Speak righteousness and holiness into situations; speak forth peace and healing; speak forgiveness of sin in Jesus Name; speak reconciliation with God through the Cross of Christ.
