The Rachamim Trust
The phrase "deep compassion" in the Isaiah verse comes from two Hebrew words, rachamim (compassions) and g'dolim (great). Rachamim is in the plural and is usually used of God's compassion; the Rachamim Trust has taken its name from these Hebrew Scriptures.
- "You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favour to her; the appointed time has come." Psalm 102:13.
- "For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back." Isaiah 54:7.
God is moving in many ways, through many and various ministries to bring His love and His compassion to the Jewish people. His abandonment of his ancient people was but for a brief moment. Many believers today are seeing and acknowledging that God is moving and bringing His people back into the land of promise. The Jews are returning to Israel from all corners of the earth, just as God said they would in the ancient Scriptures. You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favour to her; the appointed time has come. That verse is heard repeated over and over again, all over the world where God's people are being watchmen on the walls and who are witnessing with their own eyes and ears the great wonders of our Wonderful Lord and Saviour. God is bringing the Jews back to their land and back to Himself. ... more
We first began to set up the Trust just over two years ago. The aim of the trust is to bring rest to the souls of those Jews that have been traumatised or caught up in the terrorist bombings and activities in Israel. We are doing this through believers in the UK (and other countries as they open up to the work of the Trust) who are opening their homes to Jews to come and stay with them for one or two weeks respite holiday. The host takes them in and provides all their accommodation and food during the stay. Experience has shown that we need those who are mature in the Lord, who have learned how to pray and know how to love, and to trust the Lord.
